Biochar natural charcoal
Biochar (natural charcoal) is a natural, porous carbon-rich material that contributes to environmental sustainability and improves soil quality, enhancing fertility.
Thanks to its sponge-like structure, biochar can retain moisture, bind nutrients, and support microbial life. It also serves as an effective tool for long-term carbon storage.
Biochar has a wide range of applications, including use in gardening substrates, agriculture (conventional and organic), ecological projects, landscape revitalization, soil decontamination, animal feed, and more.

Production
Biochar is produced through gentle pyrolysis of plant residues remaining after rapeseed processing. During this process, the organic material undergoes thermal decomposition with limited air access, preserving the useful properties of the original material, including carbon sequestration in the pyrolyzed biomass.
Biochar offers many of advantages:
- Binds CO₂, preventing its release into the atmosphere
- Stores carbon in the soil
- Retains water and nutrients
- Improves soil quality
- Lightens soil, making it suitable for applications such as green roof substrates
Production of horticultural substrates
Adding biochar to substrates improves soil structure. Its porous nature retains moisture and provides an ideal environment for microorganisms that aid in the decomposition of organic matter. Additionally, its low density helps lighten the resulting substrate.
Agriculture
Animal production
Biochar’s adsorption properties help reduce unpleasant odors and control moisture in animal bedding, extending its lifespan. In addition, biochar can be used as a feed additive to improve livestock digestion. Our products meet the requirements for animal feed use, certified under EBC Feed Plus and GMP+ standards.
